Been coming here for years. I ask for haddock and small chips. They make it fresh which is best, otherwise the fish can be a bit dry if it's sat there for a while. Best fish and chips in Hertfordshire.

Great tasting chips, loved that they serve them in an open cone as an option and give a wooden fork with them, and they also fill the cones in two halves putting salt and vinegar half way down and on top so plenty throughout! The chips were also cooked fresh to order in front of us, was fast, and generous portion size. Will definitely be coming back to Golden Fry again.

Best fish and chips in town! Tried this place out with my family when visiting Stevenage and it exceeded our expectations!! So fresh , crunchy , tasty and quick service . Highly recommend

Don't write reviews & do not have fish & chips very often but felt I had to write a review on this occasion. Ive just eaten rock (for a change) & chips. What a beautiful piece of fish! Perfectly cooked & just about managed to eat it as it was a large piece. Absolutely enjoyed it. Well worth the money & definitely recommended. Compliments to the chef.

Lovely chips, brought sausages in batter, saveloy, pie and chips. Less than £5 each. All good. Only down we didn't realise the sausage batter was a small size sausage. would still visit again just buy 2 sausages instead of 1.

To be honest we often use this chippy on aTuesday and we have never had a problem with it. Fish is always good, chips are lovely and service with a smile. My prefered chippy is in Baldock but this one is a lot closer and the food is fine. The premisis always seems to be clean and there is always a number of other customers waiting to be served!
